“It’s about time I started a blog,” I thought to myself in May 2024, at least three decades after blogging first became a thing.
There’s never been more blogs and vlogs and content of all kinds online. Unfortunately, my feeling of it being too late to ‘get in the game’ has stopped me from joining in with some ambitious and possibly unrealistic ideas.
But I do think I know how to write and run a blog! That’s basically all I’ve done (at least professionally speaking) since I graduated.
My previous writing has mostly centred around investing and consumer electronics. With this blog, I think I want to focus more on stuff like travel and food & drink. Yes, how original.
I’ve had this domain name sitting around unused for years and it’s about time I put it to use. Beginning now on bragg.in, I’ll be braggin’ about a bunch of things, both good and bad.
I’m hoping this might also give me some inspiration to get back into photography and videography. According to my ancient Flickr account, I uploaded my first photos online in 2007, but only this year joined Instagram.
As a random side note, some of my Flickr pics were found and uploaded to different Wikipedia pages. This includes the one below, which appears on Chinese Buddhism and Monk (the member of a religious community, not the hit TV show).

Future blog plans
I’ve put up a few photos on Instagram and will continue to do so as I fill out this blog. However, I’ll need to have a think about how to best use X/Twitter, YouTube and all the other platforms.
I plan to start things off here by writing about recent and potential future travels including in Australia and overseas. In my next post, I’ll talk about the challenges of heading abroad when so many places are so dang far away.
Also, I might go back and revisit some of the many photos and videos I’ve taken on previous trips and see what I can turn them into quality content.
When it comes to travel, there’s also always the potential to dive into the world of frequent flyer points. These which played a pretty big role in my last trip. It is a bit of a rabbit hole, but can be super rewarding.
Stay tuned and follow along to see what this all becomes.
